Examining these things and making them conscious often helps immensely with understanding where the conflict between what is best vs what I want is coming from.

In this exercise, we are going to make a list of 10 situations:

5 where we should have trusted ourselves but didn't

5 where we followed through on trusting ourselves with an action.

This is not about judging yourself. We want to create a concrete list of examples that prove you can trust yourself to know when something is wrong – because as you will see, you can. As you make the list, think about why you did or did not follow up with an action. What was going on with you at the time? What was the biggest factor at play in these decisions, and how can you address that in a more healthy way so that you know you can trust yourself to do what is best for you?
