Another important step to getting to know yourself after abuse is creating a realistic and balanced understanding of yourself. That means understanding where you shine and where you struggle. Identifying your strengths and struggles helps create a realistic picture of yourself for yourself, as well as where you can work to improve. It's important to remember that this is not about labeling things good or bad. It's just about taking an inventory of what's going on and how you work, in order to create a better understanding of yourself, your challenges and your process.
